Textured Details
First off, Happy Friday my friends! I'm excited about today's post because I'll be talking about some popular textured detailing being used in the fashion industry, namely pleats and embroidery. And I'll be discussing some shopping hacks at the same time!
I'm in love with pleated attire. Pleats turn what would otherwise be a flat and boring piece into a sophisticated eye catching statement, like these pants.. or should I say jumpsuit! That's right! I'm actually wearing an H&M jumpsuit with the top half tucked in. This past Monday, I decided to take a study break and go shopping. I found myself in H&M sifting through the sale pile, in which I found this jumpsuit for $20. As I was trying it on I realized that the straps unhooked in the back allowing the top to fall flat and be tucked into the pant. Which brings me to shopping hack #1; if the top half of a jumpsuit unhooks in the back, simply tuck it into the pant to make the piece even more versatile! Two outfits in one?! What could be more perfect (especially for traveling). Unfortunately, this piece is basically all sold out online but if you head into the stores you might be able to score one. If you don't have time to make it into the store but you love these pants, I'm linking up an identical pair of pants that are still available here! You may also find this Ribbed Sweater that I'm sporting, which features ruffled edges around the neckline, wrist, and bottom hem. While it's selling for $9.99 online right now, it was only $3 in the Philadelphia H&M store! So for shopping hack #2; I highly suggest visiting the H&M store in person vs. shopping online because I always find the same products for less. Honestly, I may even go back today!
Now for the embroidered goods. These Zora Ankle Boots, by EGO, are my favorite boots at the moment. I never thought I'd be so excited to wear boots this season, but the floral embroidered detailing makes it spring-friendly! Embroidered patterns have the ability to transform a basic product into a fun and bright statement piece. Embroidery isn't the only texture trend going on in the footwear industry. Take for example fur-lining, fishnet, and ruffle details. Lucky for you, EGO carries options for all of those trends! If you're wondering about sizing, I normally fluctuate between a US7 and US8 for most brands, but I've been going with a size US7 for all my EGO purchases and everything has been a great fit so far. Also, if you sign up for their newsletter you can receieve 15% off your next purchase!
Have a fabulous weekend everyone!
