The Baby Steps of Wearing Statement Boots

The start of September kind of marks the start of Fall right? And one of my favorite parts of Fall is being able to bring out the boot collection. Recently, statement boots have become quite popular! I've seen many designers send their models strutting down the runway in maximalist boots -- from sparkles and glitter to floral and studded. I wasn't sure I'd be able to pull of such statement pieces myself though. So I started taking baby steps toward this trend with the help of The Larna boot in silver, by EGO. While the boot is a bright silver, has a pointed toe, and features a flared block heel, the design is actually fairly simple.. when compared to other boots like this ornamented Oscar de la Renta boot. When I received The Larna boot in the mail, I fell in love! But I was still unsure if I could rock all that silver. So I got out my oh-so-comfy Cape Town pant, by Cindy Karen. These long bell-bottoms did the trick -- they covered up just enough of the boot for me to feel comfortable and take that first baby step out into the world of statement boots. Because the shoes are so spectacular, I decided to keep the rest of the outfit simple, wearing this ROMWE 'Inspire Others' Top, from Amazon, my favorite black bag, The Berlin by Kado, and last but not least, the best cat-eye sunglasses I ever did see, a.k.a The Hitchhiker, by VYE Eyewear.

If at first you're not 100% comfortable taking on one of these maximalist trends, try starting small and working your way there. Maybe next time you'll see me wearing this boot with some cropped pants or a skirt instead.. Maybe!
