Something Borrowed Blooms Review
If you’re reading this then it’s likely because you are comparing floral options for your wedding day. What an incredibly stressful decision! But I’m hoping that this blog post will make your life a little easier. I went through the same difficult decision making process. I wanted beautiful flowers but I didn’t want to pay $3-5k for fresh flowers that would just be thrown away at the end of the night. And just in the nick of time, a Something Borrowed Blooms (SBB) Instagram ad showed up on my page like a knight in shinning armor! SBB is a wedding floral boutique that specializes in rentable premium silk flowers. The rent and return process, which I’m going to review in detail, is made simple by this female-run business.
Let me preface that I only used SBB for the venue centerpieces. I had a very specific and simple idea in mind (aka just white roses) for the bouquets which I executed myself by purchasing two dozen fresh roses. But I knew that taking on all the florals for the venue would be way too much work. And so that’s where the pre-assembled silk flower centerpieces from Something Borrowed Blooms saved the day.
1. The first part of the process is picking out which collection to choose the centerpieces from. Luckily, SBB allows you to order a “Preview Pack” which involves picking out two options that get sent right to your door. This gives you the opportunity to view two options in person before making your decision. This part really put my mind at ease because as soon as I saw their Nina Centerpiece in person, I fell in love! The flowers looked incredibly real, the arrangement was artfully designed, and the size of the centerpiece was perfect. You get to keep the preview pack for four days before you have to send it back with the pre-paid label.
2. The next step is to figure out just how many centerpieces you’ll need and place an order approximately 6 months prior to your wedding date. I decided to go with the Nina Collection! I ordered 14 Nina Centerpieces (Large) for the round tables, 5 of the Nina Garlands for the long tables/sweetheart table, and lastly the Nina Cake Cluster for our cake! All together, the order came out to approximately $1k, which is a third of the price I would have paid for fresh florals!
3. Approximately 3 days before your wedding the florals will arrive at your door. I suggest opening everything up to ensure all the pieces are there. My order came in without any issue! The one tricky thing is that you’ll need to ensure you have a way to transport the flowers to the venue. Luckily, my parents have a pickup truck and they helped me transport everything. I hired a wedding coordinator to set everything up the morning of the wedding. Another option, if the venue allows it, is to have the florals sent and stored there. This part all depends on what works best for you.
4. After the big day comes to an end, all there is left to do is return the order! Simply package the pieces back into their boxes and use the pre-paid shipping label provided. Bring the packages to a FedEx by the next business day and you’re all done.
I can’t tell you happy I was with the way the centerpieces looked and how easy the process was! To sum it all up, Something Borrowed Blooms is an affordable, sustainable, and stress-free option for wedding florals that I highly recommend. Feel free to drop any questions that you might have below!
