It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realize that what was once old in the fashion industry is new again. From 80’s bermuda shorts to 90’s strappy sandals, the past is coming back to flaunt us! (I know, bad joke!) While many brands are re-creating these styles, vintage shops are selling the real deal. Take for example these high-waisted silk shorts and these strappy wooden sandals, both from the vast Cucarachaz collection. Cucarachaz is an online thrift shop curated by Nina Marie Martínez, who’s also a talented author! Lucky for you, her shop offers a ton of shorts and sandals very similar to the ones I’ve styled above. All of which are in excellent condition and arrive in the mail very quickly! The 80’s bermuda shorts and the 90’s strappy sandals are two trends that I’m currently head-over-heels for. But what I love most is that I can partake in these trends while also being a conscious consumer. Shopping second hand apparel allows us to re-purpose old apparel, while having a positive impact on the environment.
